June 30 marks start of year's busiest travel time
ATLANTA -- The Fourth of July peak travel period begins today, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is well-prepared to welcome more than 2 million passengers during this busy holiday period.
Airport officials expect passenger numbers to be almost two percent higher than this period last year, according to media relations manager Katena Carvajales.
This is consistent with the airport's year-to-date passenger increase.
"We are happy to serve more than 2 million passengers during this busy holiday period," said Lous Miller, aviation general manager.
