JONESBORO, Ga. -- A Jonesboro retiree has won a big Georgia Lottery prize.

Alonzo Davis, 66, won $2.5 million playing the instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks.

"I started crying over and over," he said.

Davis purchased his ticket from a BP on Highway 85 North in Fayetteville. He scratched it just outside the store.

"I had to double and triple check," he said. "I couldn't believe it."

Davis is retired from the U.S. Postal Service and moved to Georgia in 2007. He and his wife, Barbara, have three adult daughters.

When asked how he planned to spend his winnings, Davis said, "We're gonna invest, buy new vehicles, give the children money and travel."
