Golf cart decals: Rules for riding on Peachtree City's trails

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -- The city of Peachtree City would like to remind all Fayette County residents that their golf carts must have Peachtree City decals before they are allowed on the network of paths.

Current decals are a reflective silver-white. They are valid through 2016.

The rules for driving carts on the trails vary for different parts of the county.

Peachtree City residents
Anyone who lives within city limits and pays Peachtree City property taxes simply needs to feature the decal on their golf carts.

Note: Some areas along Sumner Road, Redwine Road and Highway 74 south of Redwine are not within Peachtree City corporate limits.

Tyrone residents
Those who live within the city limits of Tyrone can use their Tyrone decals to ride on the trails in Tyrone, Peachtree City, Fayetteville and unincorporated Fayette County.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- There is still time to see a display of chairs that will be auctioned off during the Children's Village annual fundraiser.

Through Thursday, Dec. 1, anyone can stop by the Fayette County Library to see the unique hand-painted chairs. The auction, named the Children's Chair-ity Event, raises money for the abused and abandoned children who live in cottages at the Children's Village at Christian City.

The Fayette County Library is located at 1821 Heritage Parkway in Fayetteville.

ATLANTA – According to the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, “country music is a perennial Southern favorite in Atlanta and it won’t disappoint”. The music, which has its roots in the south, is known as a blend of, both, traditional and popular music. The country music genre gained widespread popularity around the mid-1900’s as music known as “hillbilly” or old-time music began to decline. Hillbilly music was a genre of music native to the people of the Ozarks. The music was usually played on acoustic instrument like a guitar or a banjo.

Over the years, old-time music changed however most of the lyrical content and instrumentation stayed the same. As it evolved, the arrangement of instruments grew to include the electronic keyboard, drums, the bass, fiddle and the harmonica.

Come out to the Aberdeen Village Center on Saturday, May 7, for Opening Day of the Peachtree City Farmers Market. The market which was formally known as, Fresh South Market will open at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 2:00 p.m. Aberdeen Village is located at 202 Northlake Drive in Peachtree City.

The city of Peachtree City will host their Annual PTC Spring Cleanup at the Peachtree City Recycling Center. According to the Peachtree City Updates newsletter, “PTC residents can drop off unwanted appliances (Freon removed), furniture, and other junk at the Recycling Center on Rockaway Road. The Recycling Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.
