Cinco de Mayo fun ends in fight, 3 arrests

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Three people were arrested after getting into a fight at a Mexican restaurant in Fayetteville on Cinco de Mayo.

The dispute broke out shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. An off-duty Fayetteville police officer working security at La Hacienda in the Fayette Place shopping center noticed three people fighting in an empty parking lot beside the restaurant.

Fayetteville police officers and Fayette County Sheriff's deputies arrived to break up the fight. Witnesses helped them identify the people involved -- 22-year-old Ariana Acree Blankenship of McDonough, 22-year-old Edward Cody Donaldson of Williamson, and 25-year-old Jarvis Louis Redding of Brooks.

All three suspects were charged with disorderly conduct; Blankenship and Donaldson were also charged with public drunkenness. They were taken to the Fayette County Jail.

Investigators have not yet determined why Blankenship, Donaldson and Redding were fighting.
