FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Fayetteville Police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station and convenience store.

It happened Friday at around 8:20 p.m. at the Shell station in the 480 block of Bradley Drive.

Witnesses said the suspect entered the convenience store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded all the money in the register. After receiving cash, he ran from the store and toward the car wash; police believe he got into a waiting getaway vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20's or early 30's. He is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 170 to 175 pounds, and was wearing gray jeans, a dark-colored jacket, white women's sunglasses, white tennis shoes and a black baseball cap with a bird logo.
