Man falls through ceiling while trying to burglarize Kroger pharmacy

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Fayetteville Police are looking for a suspect accused of trying to steal pills from a Kroger pharmacy.

The attempted burglary happened at around 9 p.m. Sunday at the store on Glynn Street.

Fayetteville Police Lt. Mike Whitlow said the suspect got in the closed pharmacy by climbing into an air vent inside the men's restroom. He crawled across a suspended ceiling and fell through it, landing in the pharmacy.

Whitlow said the suspect grabbed two bottles of pills and tried to leave through the door, but couldn't get it open. He crawled back into the ceiling to return to the bathroom, and left the store without the medications.

The suspect is described as a white man dressed in khaki shorts, a black polo shirt and tennis shoes. He was last seen getting into a black Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a second suspect.

Cameras inside the Kroger captured images of the man. Anyone who can help police identify him is asked to call investigators at 770-461-4441.
