Fayette County to recognize four life-saving officials

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. -- The Fayette County Sheriff's Office and Glenn Howell of the Public Defender's Office will recognize four officials from a prior Fayette County State Court session on December 4, at 2:00 p.m.

According to Sheriff Wayne Hannah, on March 21, Lieutenant Francis Cavender, Investigator Chad Cowart, Deputy Sheriff Warren Collinsworth and Bailiff Ron Evans witnessed Howell suffer a massive heart attack during while the court was in session. The four officials immediately responded and were able to save his life, as they kept him alive until Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and took over his care.

The actions of the four officials will be recognized by the Sheriff's Office and Howell at a ceremony in Classroom B at the Sheriff's Office.
