Game of the Week Nominees: Semifinals

SNELLVILLE, GA -- The nominations for Game of the Week include a dynamic offense vs. a stout defense, two rematches from earlier in the season, and a battle of two seriously long win streaks. Which game won this week's honors?

With 40 percent of the online vote, Collins Hill at Brookwood is 11Alive and Atlanta.HighSchoolSports.net's Game of the Week. The two 5A teams played earlier in the season, but the stakes and circumstances were much different then.

It was both teams' second game of the season. The Broncos were 1-0 and coming off of a 27-10 win over Walton in the Corky Kell Classic. Collins Hill was 1-0 and coming off of a 13-9 win over Roswell.

Brookwood won 45-38 in double overtime and went on to win 10 of their next 11 games. Collins Hill lost their next two games, but turned a 1-3 record into 10-3.

Holyfield to Fight Again

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has been lined up to fight Denmark's Brian Nielsen on March 4.

Sauerland Promotion said in a statement Wednesday that Holyfield "knows he faces an experienced boxer." The Atlanta-based Holyfield is 48 years old, Nielsen 45.

Holyfield, who held the heavyweight title four times, knocked out Francois Botha last April after losses to Nikolay Valuev and Sultan Ibragimov. He has a career record of 43-10-2, with 28 knockouts.

One of Holyfield's most memorable fights came against Mike Tyson in 1997, when Tyson was disqualified after biting off part of Holyfield's right ear.

Further details of the bout are expected to be released Thursday.

Tyrone Elementary has been Chosen for Box Tops for Education Contest

Tyrone Elementary has been Chosen for Box Tops for Education Contest

Tyrone Elementary has been selected as one of 10 finalists nationwide in the Progresso Soup Box Tops for Education Contest.

The school entered the competition last month by submitting a photo and short description of how they would creatively spread the word about Progresso Soup joining the Box Tops for Education program. She says she made sure everyone in their cars knew that the soups now have the box tops and each are worth a dime.

Her campaign and the photo of Reed wearing the costume landed the school in the finals for the competition. Now, it is up to voters to select the grand prize winning school that will receive 100,000 box tops worth approximately $10,000.  If Tyrone wins, the funds will be used to repair playground equipment, purchase technology programs and instructional supplies.

Here’s how you can help Tyrone Elementary get the most votes and win the $10,000 grand prize.
